Diagnostic ELISAs to Monitor Complement System Activation

QuidelOrtho offers a broad range of CE marked and in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) ELISAs for accurate measurement of complement system proteins, providing a complete assessment of activation across all pathways.

The complement system is composed of more than 50 fluid phase and membrane-bound proteins and protein fragments, organized into three primary pathways: Classical, Alternative and Lectin. Through a series of specific activation steps, these pathways mediate key biological functions, ranging from inflammation initiation, immune complex clearance, cell membrane disruption and immune response regulation. Recent research reveals that the complement system also plays a role in numerous localized and systemic conditions, such as cancer, diabetes, neurological disorders, renal disease, pregnancy, trauma and more.

QuidelOrtho Specialty Products Group (SPG) provides a wide selection of ready-to-use, IVD and CE marked ELISA kits for diagnostically measuring complement system proteins. These assays enable precise measurement of complement proteins and cover all pathways for a complete assessment of complement activation, with reliable and reproducible results. With 300+ peer-reviewed literature citations and multiple validated species and sample types, our ELISAs provide the highest standard for care and research.

*Detection of C1q-binding circulating immune complexes.
**Detection of C3d-bound circulating immune complexes.

Featured assay: MicroVue Bb Plus EIA

MicroVue Bb Plus EIA is IVD and CE marked for the measurement of complement fragment Bb, an activation fragment of Factor B of the alternative pathway of complement, in human plasma or serum. Measurement of alternative pathway activation aids in the diagnosis of several kidney diseases, such as chronic glomerulonephritis and lupus nephritis, skin diseases, such as dermatitis herpetiformis and pemphigus vulgaris, rheumatoid arthritis, sickle cell anemia, gram-negative bacterial infections, and more.

Our assays are available for use on standard ELISA readers commonly found in European laboratories and are also offered at numerous reference labs across Europe. To meet diverse research and clinical needs, our range also includes complementary products like antibodies, proteins, multiplex assays and specialized reagents. For specific intended uses and clinical claims, please refer to the product insert (PI) provided with each kit.
